What keeps bankers awake at night?

This is a webinar event taking place on Wednesday 19 May 2021 1pm to 2pm BST.

Managing risk is central to banks and we have been training bankers how to do it for more than 140 years.

So, in launching our new Centre for Governance, Risk and Regulation (CGRR), an obvious first question is what risks are uppermost in bankers’ minds as the world emerges from Covid-19 with a legacy of increased corporate and sovereign debt.

The pandemic has highlighted risks such as crime and security, as fraudsters become more technologically advanced and bank operations more dispersed through working from home. Crime and the macro-economy topped the rankings of perceived risks in the latest Banking Banana Skins survey published by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI).

Partnering with the CSFI, our new Centre is running its first webinar – ‘What keeps bankers awake at night?’ – with three of its faculty members:

  • Paul Howard ACIB
  • Katharine Pons, Executive Coach
  • Emmanuel Rondeau, Visiting Professor, LIBF and Non-Executive Director, La Banque Postale

The webinar will be introduced by the Centre’s founder, Olivier Beroud. Another faculty member, Jane Fuller, will moderate the discussion.

The CGRR’s purpose is to create a community of experts who work together to discuss, explain and provide education and training on issues of governance, risk and regulation to finance professionals around the world. The Centre offers training to boards and senior managers, as well as webinars, interviews, podcasts and articles via its website risk.libf.ac.uk
